If you’ve ever been to a Summer Camp, you know the impact that it can have. I got serious about God, rededicated my life to Him, and got baptized when I was in high school at a Summer Camp. My husband encountered God & ultimately felt called into ministry while at Summer Camp. Throughout the years, Oasis kids & teens have equally been changed forever at camps:
- Alex was able to let go of deep hurt, loneliness, and feeling neglected while at Summer Camp- he’s now an incredible leader at Oasis & on staff part-time with us;
- Belinda’s mom shared she had “no idea what else to do with her” on multiple occasions due to behavioral issues- at camp, Belinda encountered God during worship, and openly & boldly repented in front of her friends.
The story that sticks out to me most today, though, is David’s. We had always observed that he was quiet, but didn’t realize that it was rooted in insecurity & apathy for life. Last year at camp, David felt led to pray for a group of his friends during worship. Having never done anything like that before, he decided to go for it– and that moment changed everything for him. He felt a sense of boldness rise up, and JOY replaced the apathy. He serves every week at Oasis now, and is even on our youth leadership team.

It costs $380 to send one student to camp for the week (all lodging, food, transportation, and activities covered!)-- would you consider a sponsorship or partial sponsorship of one or more teens?
